The newest, and nicest, addition to Hilton's Curio Collection in Paris is a stone's throw from the Seine, the Champs-Élysées, and some of the most prestigious shopping in the city. Wondering how the major renovation of Maison Astor Paris, Curio Collection by Hilton turned out?

Looking for a hotel in Paris?
On our very first trip to Paris, after much research, we selected the Maison Astor Paris, Curio Collection by Hilton ("Maison Astor Paris"). We had a phenomenal trip - can't speak highly of it enough!
If you aren't sure which neighborhood you'd like to select in Paris, check out my Paris Neighborhood Guide to get some ideas before you make a selection! Maison Astor Paris: Location
Of Maison Astor Paris's many strong attributes, location is likely the strongest. Located in the 8th arrondissement, just a bit north of the Champs Elysees, it's an easy walk to some of the best shopping in Paris. However...and interestingly, the area is wonderfully un-touristy. This is not the land of monster tourist hotels. In fact, it's a professional office block area (located near a major international law firm). The hotel is small and nestled in amongst Parisians going about their working lives.
The streets were extremely quiet at night, and during the day, many office workers were taking smoke and coffee breaks on the sidewalks and hitting the cafes for lunch. The entire Madeleine neighborhood is easily walkable from here - including both the metro station and the square of luxury shopping surrounding the old church, Eglise de la Madeleine. We loved just stopping by Paul or a small grocery on our way home from a long day on our walk back from the metro. Place Vendome and the Ritz is a quick 15 minute walk. All of that said, regardless of where you stay, you will be taking the metro a lot. We are huge walkers, but Paris is a massive city. I would not say that this hotel is "out of the way," I would argue that Paris is huge and this hotel is in an excellent location, with several convenient metro stations: Miromesnil, Saint-Augustin, and Madeleine. Maison Astor Paris: Guestrooms
There was a closet with both shelves and clothes hanging capabilities, where we could just fit one of our suitcases. They've just renovated, so the bathrooms are marble, modern, and nice, with combined shower/tub and chrome fittings.
Maison Astor Paris: Concierge Services
We took significantly more advantage of the concierge services on this trip than we usually do, based not only on the fact we were unfamiliar with the city, but also because they did such an excellent job! In particular, as it was my 30th birthday, we asked for a reservation for dinner (with just one night's notice). They called a fabulous place that ticked all of my boxes - small, well-run, excellent food, nice area, and expensive, but not a mortgage payment. Absolutely wonderful.
Additionally, as it turned out, my mother had called several weeks before our trip to arrange for flowers to be included in our room upon our arrival for my birthday - they were gorgeous and she told me after the fact that the staff were extremely helpful. Maison Astor Paris: Amenities and Dining
They offered us welcome drinks and I appreciated that, upon going to the bar for the, they had a special menu of welcome drinks - it avoided the situation (especially with the language barrier) of us having to clarify what was included, etc.
Should I stay at Hilton's Maison Astor, Paris?
I highly recommend this hotel - we will absolutely stay here on our (hopefully numerous) future trips to Paris! It's a perfect size, in an excellent location, with thoughtful staff, and now that it's a new member of the Hilton family, it's the best of both worlds.

Anything associated with Hilton - or anything Hilton itself - is plain fabulous. Lovely pictures and charming spot. I cannot believe I have not seen Paris yet but it is on my list. Rocking post.
