Shopping online for baby clothes?Even before baby arrives, every mom I know, myself certainly included, spends a significant portion of her life shopping for the cutest, tiny baby clothes online. Every mom I know, myself included, has wasted a lot of time and money buying poor quality, ill-fitting baby clothes that we have neither the time nor the energy to return. So, I thought I'd save everyone some time and let you know my favorite places to shop for baby clothes online. Baby clothes buying basicsBefore we dive into the best places to shop online for cute baby clothes, I thought I'd share a few things I've learned after a year of mistakes buying baby clothes! Resist the urge to buy cute newborn clothesBefore baby is born, everyone will tell you not to buy cute newborn clothes because you won't ever use them. List to this sage advice. Buy cute clothes in a larger size when baby isn't having her diaper changed every 2 minutes and constantly spitting up. And...never leaving the house. Stock up on a million onesies and pajamas, in the most basic colors and price points for those early days and save the cute stuff for later. When in doubt, size upSimilar to adult women's clothing, baby clothes sizing varies between brands. If you're unsure which size to buy, go bigger. They'll wear it eventually. Body Suits & PantsAll my baby wears Monday-Friday is a little bodysuit (with sleeves), and pants ("U-shaped" with room for diaper). Babies don't need shoesEnough said. Best Places to Shop for Baby Clothes OnlineThe Winner: Old NavyHands down, the best place to buy baby clothes online is Old Navy. I started shopping at Old Navy for baby basics - onesies, bodysuits, little pants, but I stayed for the quality, which was honestly better than all of the similarly-priced retailers I tried, and the affordable little "add-ons." No, baby doesn't need a jean jacket, but it's $14 and fun for pictures. Additionally, they have great pricing, excellent and frequent sales, and there's an Old Navy just around the corner so I can do returns and exchanges in person, rather than going to the post office. And I can grab myself a few items while I'm at it... The Classic: NordstromFor slightly higher quality, items baby might wear longer, outfits that are going to get a lot of use, and special occasion wear, you really can't beat Nordstrom's baby selection. They're perhaps the opposite of Old Navy (pricey and rarely have sales), but their basics hold up well, and they offer cute clothes for special occasions. You can also grab baby gear, such as strollers, car seats, etc. Durable, everyday basics: Hanna AnderssonAs baby girl has gotten older, and wears pieces a little longer, I've been investing in some everyday basics that I hope she'll wear for months. Lately I've had great luck at Hanna Andersson. They have the cutest prints and a lot of items are similar colors, so I can mix and match. New & Exciting: Magnetic MeI've been spreading the word of magnetic onesies ever since I discovered Magnetic Me! As many of you know, I have rheumatoid arthritis, so anything I can do to minimize the use of tiny buttons and snaps is worth its weight in gold! That said, even for those of you with fully functioning hands, being able to quickly get baby dressed, off the changing table, and back to playing, is, frankly, invaluable. Now that my little one is getting older, she's increasingly anxious to spend as little time as possible on her back, and magnetic pajamas have saved me so much time and effort before bedtime! For special occasions: Janie & JackIn honor of our family picture session this weekend, I have to recommend Janie and Jack for those fancy baby clothes. Personally, I'd hold off on investing in fancy stuff until baby is old enough to not have their diaper changed 1 million times a day, and actually be out and about, but ever since Ellie was about 6 months old, I've kept a couple Janie & Jack outfits in the closet for holidays, parties, and visits from Great Grandma! Janie and Jack's products are absolutely gorgeous, and the quality is evident in every tiny (tiny tiny) detail! Thanks for Stopping By!I love chatting all things baby!
