Need a Christmas gift for an Anglophile?

We Anglophiles are both easy and hard to buy Christmas gifts for. You know what we want (English stuff) and where to get it (England). But, there are often significant shipping frees to cross the pond and, if you (somehow?) aren't an Anglophile, you may now even know what to actually buy, where to find the things you do want to buy, or how long they'll all take to get over here to the colonies!

Never fear - I've collected a list of the greatest Christmas gifts for the Anglophile in your life, most of which are available from U.S. sellers, cutting out the huge shipping fees.
A pro tip about shipping fees: if you do have your heart set on getting something from the U.K., see if they offer free shipping over a certain amount - you can probably find something to buy for other people on your list from the same shop and not have to worry about shipping!

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles: Royal Family Merch

Anglophiles certainly do love a good piece of British Royal Family merchandise! In years of significant royal events, Fortnum and Mason makes the most phenomenal commemorative plates and mugs.

In other Royal Family dining supplies, my "favourite" hotel in the world, The Goring, has also premiered a gorgeous commemorative mug, which is a great souvenirs for fans of the hotel where The Duchess of Cambridge spent her last night as Kate Middleton! For more on The Goring Hotel, check out the full post.

Fortnum & Mason Cookbook

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles: The Fortnum & Mason cookbook
While we're on the Fortnum & Mason note, the classic English department store has a lovely cookbook, penned by none other than The Duchess of Cornwall's daughter, Tom Parker Bowles. Featuring everything from lovely cocktails to cozy soups and stews, the Anglophile chef in your life will love these recipes!

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles:
The right streaming service

Admittedly, this isn't the easiest Christmas gift to wrap that I've ever put on a list, but, for people like me, perhaps it is one of the most useful gifts!

The joy of streaming services is that they are both increasing in quantity and narrowing in focus, so it's easier than ever to stream the best British shows, even over here across the pond, without having to buy those giant box sets of DVDs from PBS, which so charmed my childhood and began my love of all things English!

Amazon offers a bundle of "Prime Video Channels" that includes Acorn TV (where Midsomer Murders moved) and Starz (which has Outlander's new seasons). For more great British Detective Show ideas, check out the full post!

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles:
All Things Harry Potter

Harry Potter never goes out of style! Pottery Barn has an ever-growing collection of amazing Harry Potter gear. I've done a round-up below of my favorites from several different spots! And if these suggestions aren't sufficient, I wrote an entire Harry Potter Christmas Gift Guide!

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles: Tea Supplies

A staple of any list of gifts for Anglophiles, tea is a must-have! I'm all about Fortnum & Mason tea myself, and the great news is all of the options below are available through Amazon, so no pesky shipping fees! Though, do check out Fortnum & Mason's online store. Shipping is unbelievably fast, and if you order enough, it's free shipping!

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles: Cute mugs

I love mugs so much I created a line of my own England-inspired mugs! Check out my Etsy Store!

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles:
Midsomer Murders Map

If your Anglophile has that passion for cozy murder mysteries we'll discuss below, this lovely Midsomer Murders location map from Etsy is a must-have. The show takes place in the fictional English county of "Midsomer," which has been home to more havoc than most idyllic, rural settings! This creative person has mapped it all out, to adorn the walls of all big fans (I have one!!)

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles:
Downton Abbey supplies

2019 was definitely the year of The Downton Abbey movie and the revival of Downton fever, but 2020 has brought us more time to view our "favourite" show! And what better way to commemorate it for the Anglophile in your life than with some classic Downton gifts? I've given away a few Downton Christmas ornaments over the years, and they've always gone down well, if I do say so myself! And what Anglophile doesn't want a witty mug with some saying from the Dowager Countess?

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles: Portmeirion galore

A mainstay in English home supplies, Portmeirion, the gorgeous floral you've definitely seen in a Midsomer Murders episode, fits well in any home. I love the plates - and the mugs are perfect and cozy for endless tea.

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles: Jo Malone

If you want to use the same home-scenting supplies as The Duchess of Cambridge, look no further than Jo Malone, famed formerly Kent-based, scented candle, perfume, and soap brand.

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles:
Cozy, English murder mysteries

There's nothing like a good book - and there's a certain type we're all about! I've collected a list of my favorites on Audible (and if you want to just go ahead and get them an Audible subscription, that works too!).
If it's books you're after, look no further than JK Rowling's CB Strike series, written under her Robert Galbraith pseudonym. Fairly easy reading, with a mix of astute observation, good writing, captivating mysteries, and a will-they-won't-they vibe, all set against a background of the hustle and bustle of London, it's perfect post-Christmas read for any Anglophile!
And if your Anglophile loves British tv, check out my list of the Best Shows on Acorn TV and Britbox and consider a subscription!

Christmas gifts for Anglophiles: Pub glassware

Any Anglophile really just wants to be snuggled up in a pub, downing a few pints of London Pride, whatever they may say to the contrary. So while you may not be able to turn your house into a pub, you can get halfway there with the right glassware! Whole Foods has been selling Sam Smith's lately (a lovely, English brew), so why not combine the two for the perfect gift for those of age on your shopping list?

Thanks for stopping by!

This is such a fun list! I love love love buying boozy glassware. Those beer steins are calling to me, and now I might have to ask my mom for some for Xmas. My cabinets are so dang full. I also love English tea and picked up a ton when I was in London years ago. Sadly, an ex-boyfriend got it when we broke up. I doubt he appreciated it as much as me. WHAAAAA!!!! HP gifts are ALL the rage.

Aww me too!! I am obsessed with glassware - and mugs- so we had to start slowly moving some of my mugs into another cabinet (but I still rotate them through quite often)! And it sounds like someone needs to order more tea!! xx
